DVAC Charlotte’s 7th ANNUAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE MEMORIAL TREE LIGHTING ~

We will honor the 57 victims that have died at the hands of their intimate partner in North Carolina (so far) in 2011. This will be done by decorating the memorial tree with ribbons acknowledging their names and the county in which they lived. All in attendance will be asked to participate.
See the flyer for details

In some cases they were wives or husbands, some were boyfriends or girlfriends, and some were innocent children caught in the middle.  Our goal is to help lend a voice to the families left behind AND for all of the others out there surviving in a violent home. We want them to know that they are not alone and help is available.

WHAT:     7th Annual Domestic Violence Memorial Tree Lighting
WHEN:     Monday, December 5th at 5:30 PM
WHERE:   CMPD Headquarters, 601 East Trade Street,
                Main Lobby, Charlotte, NC 28202
Park in lot off of Davidson Street

This memorial will be on display through the end of the year. We hope that any friends and family who have lost a loved one to domestic violence will make this memorial their own. Bring pictures, poems, news articles, flowers, etc. and place them near the tree for all to appreciate.
