Domestic Violence Ministry:
   Beyond Abuse To Healing (BATH)

Did You Know...?

  • Every 15 seconds a woman is physically assaulted in her home.
  • Children who witness violence grow up believing that violence is a reasonable alternative to solving problems.  60% of children from violent homes become abusive adults.
  • Domestic violence is a major cause of homelessness. A large percentage of women and children living on the street became homeless because of domestic violence.
The Domestic Violence Advocacy Council in Charlotte-Mecklenburg is focusing this year's events on community partnerships and how it will take all of us; including domestic violence service providers, houses of worship and community leaders alike to end the cycle of violence.

Surrounding Counties:   Gaston County     Union County

North Carolina: The North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence's (www.NCCADV.org) statewide theme for North Carolina's Domestic Violence Awareness Month is "Domestic Violence Affects Everyone: Everyone Can Make A Difference"  Also, check out the 2009 Domestic Violence Awareness Month Proclamation
