Haiti Relief

A 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Haiti just before 5pm on Tuesday, January 12th, approximately 10 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince. As we watch the images of suffering, we are overwhelmed in knowing how to respond.

This site was developed to provide information on how individuals, small groups, and churches can help contribute to the Haiti Relief efforts.

Check back frequently, as information may be updated from day to day.

We can’t say thank you enough for the amazing response from our members, our churches, and our community for their response to help our friends living in the midst of crisis in Haiti and the many that are responding to meet their needs.  This is church truly being church!  Funds are being dispersed on a regular basis through ministries that the Presbytery and our churches support.  Let’s continue to make a difference – help us help them!  Thanks be to God for each of you and continued prayers for all people in Haiti and those around the world responding!

VOLUNTEER & GO TO HAITI

(UPDATED 2/17)

Medical and mission teams are needed in Haiti, but the challenges at the present time are primarily safety and transportation issues.  The Presbytery of Charlotte is partnering with Outreach Foundation (Haiti Outreach Ministries) to provide opportunity for the people with varying skill sets wanting to provide relief to the people of Haiti.  Soon to follow will be a form for individuals to fill out if they would like to travel to Haiti.  Commercial flights, housing, food, and security will determine when these trips are able to begin.

See photos from Haiti Outreach Ministries on the three-days of mourning, prayer and fasting during the church services on Sunday 2/14. There were over 2000 at Cite Soleil, more than 1200 at Blanchard and more than 800 at Repatriote!

A Message Concerning Haitian Orphans

“If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need
but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?
Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”
