[Msg Dated: 4/7/10]
Hello- We appreciate that you support Men’s Shelter of Charlotte, Tryon St Campus and Statesville Ave Campus!! The merger has gone very well and we have Great News for you- The Statesville Campus will stay open all year to meet the growing needs of homeless men in our community. We have been serving 500 homeless men nightly at two locations so far this year. In the past when Statesville Campus closed at the end of April we turned away over 200 homeless men into the streets. This means that we will not have to turn away anyone on May 1. This is great news and I wanted to share this with you!
This also means there will be many more opportunities to volunteer to serve at Statesville Campus. We appreciate your current commitment to homeless men at our shelters and would like to offer available open dates to come and serve a meal. We will be using Charlotte Rescue Mission to provide the food until later this summer then the Tryon Campus will prepare and deliver meals.
I am calling or emailing everyone that is currently involved with Men’s Shelter Statesville Campus and Tryon St Campus. I would like you to let me know as soon as possible what dates you would like to commit to. The dates are fairly open right now from May 1- September 30. I know you my be are familiar with duties serving at Tryon St Campus and below I have the duties for the Statesville Ave Campus. I have been sharing this with all volunteers. Thank you so much for your kind heart and I am looking forward to working with you this summer.
