REVELATION STUDY: On August 14, 9am-noon, Dr. James "Mickey" Efird, Professor Emeritus at Duke Divinity School, will present a study on the book of Revelation, one of the most often misunderstood books in the Bible, at the Congregation House of Davidson College Presbyterian Church.  Though this will be a study for Presbyterian Women in the fall, all are welcome to come and learn at Dr. Efird's study.  See the flyer for more information, and share it with others.

FTE CALLING CONGREGATIONS CONFERENCE:  Call young leaders.  Renew the Church.  Change the World.  This conference, part of an initiative of the Fund for Theological Education, will be held Oct 7-9 in Atlanta, Georgia.  Register before August 1 to save on registration.  For more information, click here.

UPCOMING MONTREAT CONFERENCES:
 > Faithful Politics* - August 8-11 “If God Doesn’t Quit When Things Get Political, Why Do We?” - For all the talk about faith and politics in the media, there are precious few conversations in our congregations about faithful political engagement. It is time to do better. This is not a conference about particular issues, political partisanship, or choosing sides. It is a conference that calls us to trust in the messiness of politics, from the congregation to the city council to the Congress.
 > Church Unbound* - August 11-14 - "Becoming a Gospel Force in the World" - If we believe God yearns to turn the church loose to be a Gospel force in the world, how can we partner in what God is doing? Differences – of culture and color, gender and generation, political perspective and theology – are gifts to be explored and celebrated as we live into a Church Unbound. Featuring author, speaker, and pastor Brian McLaren.
*Individuals wanting to attend both the Faithful Politics and Church Unbound events, pay ONE fee of $205 for BOTH conferences.

STEWARDSHIP WORKSHOP:
Thursday August 26, 2010 Leave A Legacy – Charlotte Region Presents “Creating Congregations of Generous People” - A one-day seminar led by Michael Durall from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Myers Park Baptist Church. In this workshop, author and stewardship consultant Michael Durall will provide insights into how congregations can become stronger communities that believe they can accomplish anything they set their minds to. This is not a “sit and listen” program. Come prepared to work! See the flyer for more information on this event.

SYNOD OF THE MID-ATLANTIC COMMITTEE OF WOMEN OF COLOR: October 1 -2, Dudley Hotel and Conference Center, Kernersville, NC.
