PRISON MINISTRY WORK GROUP

One Day With God - May 30, 2009

Every child is born with the desire to know the love of their parent.  Forgiven Ministry desires to bring peace to these children through our Lord Jesus Christ.

"One Day With God" Camps allow children to spend quality time with their parents who are in prison.  They participate in games, watch Christian films, sing, make crafts, eat lunch, and worship together.  The entire camp takes place behind prison walls, but allows for children and their parents to reflect and restore broken relationships that may not have otherwise had a chance to be repaired.

Volunteer with Forgiven Ministry, Inc. to help give children and their parents in prison a chance to restore and build their relationships.  For more information, including registration form, click here.

Prepare for Justice Awareness Month - February

Help educate our community about criminal justice issues.  By raising awareness and increasing support for effective programs, Justice Awareness Month will help increase the success rate of incarcerated individuals returning to society with the ability and mindset of living full, productive lives, thus increasing the safety and peace in our neighborhoods.

To find out more about what you can do, read
this letter from ECO, Inc. (Energy Committed to Offenders).  This non-profit organization has the mission of improving the quality of life in Charlotte-Mecklenburg by restoring offenders to their families and the community, helping them find work and reducing recidivism (the failure rate of successfully returning inmates into society).   For more information go to ecocharlotte.org.
