PRISON MINISTRY WORK GROUP

February is Justice Awareness Month, a time for educating our community about criminal justice issues.  By raising awareness and increasing support for effective programs, Justice Awareness Month will help increase the success rate of incarcerated individuals returning to society with the ability and mindset of living full, productive lives, thus increasing the safety and peace in our neighborhoods.

To find out more about what you can do, read this letter from ECO, Inc. (Energy Committed to Offenders).  This non-profit organization has the mission of improving the quality of life in Charlotte-Mecklenburg by restoring offenders to their families and the community, helping them find work and reducing recidivism (the failure rate of successfully returning inmates into society).   For more information go to ecocharlotte.org.
