The Church Development Committee (CDC) is responsible
for the following ministry areas of the Presbytery:

–> Immigrant Ministries: Working in tandem with PC(USA) denominational structures and resources (e.g. 1001 New Worshiping Communities) to identify, develop, and strengthen communities of worship and ministry among immigrant populations in our area.
–> New Church Development: Working in tandem with PC(USA) denominational structures and resources (e.g. 1001 New Worshiping Communities) to identify, develop, and strengthen new communities of worship and ministry in our area.
–> Church Health: Assisting congregations by sharing models and methods of evangelism and discipleship that will lead to faithful, healthy, and growing churches; provide support and encouragement to smaller membership churches.

Special Funding and Resources:

(1) Administer the “Building Healthy Churches Fund”
(2) Administer the Hamilton Grants

‘EMMAUS ROAD OPPORTUNITY’

–> Is your church interested in responding
to the significant shifts in culture all around us?

–> And is your church willing to risk significant
internal CHANGE to meet these opportunities?

If so, we want to invite you to consider walking the Emmaus Road over this next year. In that story in Luke 24, two people had their lives and vision turned around by an encounter with the risen Jesus. And we believe that Jesus still transforms individuals and churches today. We won’t lie – this kind of change is not for the faint of heart! But for those interested in taking this journey, you don’t have to do it alone…

As part of our mission to encourage, support, and resource the congregations of our presbytery in their ministry and mission, the Church Development Committee (CDC) is partnering with the Presbyterian Foundation and the Lilly Foundation to fund a one year program for eight churches in our presbytery. We are bringing in the national ministry, PneuMatrix, to work with the eight churches as well as providing eight local apprentices mentored by PneuMatrix along the way to support those on the Emmaus Road.

If you are interested, we’d like to know!
