The Ministry Resource Committee (MRC) is structured to build relationships and strengthen congregations around the shared vision of the Presbytery. The MRC will offer and develop a range of resources and support (funding, partnership, training, coaching) around the priorities of our shared vision: discipleship, evangelism, pastoral care, mission, worship, community-building, and risking new ministry and mission. New worshiping communities and transformation are foundational to the resourcing work of the MRC. The MRC also supports Ministry Teams throughout the Presbytery
The Ministry Resource Committee (MRC) is responsible
for the following ministry areas of the Presbytery:
–> Transformation: Leading the presbytery in Church Transformation by consulting with existing congregations that are willing to undergo massive changes in their mission emphasis (such as merger, relocation, closure, and definition of ministry, etc.) which should re-direct their spiritual and numerical growth;
–> Immigrant Ministries: Working in tandem with PC(USA) denominational structures and resources (e.g. 1001 New Worshiping Communities) to identify, develop, and strengthen communities of worship and ministry among immigrant populations in our area.
–> New Church Development: Working in tandem with PC(USA) denominational structures and resources (e.g. 1001 New Worshiping Communities) to identify, develop, and strengthen new communities of worship and ministry in our area.
–> Church Health: Assisting congregations by sharing models and methods of evangelism and discipleship that will lead to faithful, healthy, and growing churches; provide support and encouragement to smaller membership churches.
Special Funding and Resources:
(1) Administer the “Building Healthy Churches Fund”
(2) Administer the Hamilton Grants
(3) Recommend churches to receive Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly Mission Development Grants.
